1. Finish filling in your table from Tuesday.

2. Go to the Google Doc: Internet Terms in Action

3. Download the document as a Word Document. (File > Download as > Word)

4. Open the file from the Downloads window by double clicking on it.

5. Use your list of terms and definitions to fill in the blanks.

6. Save your changes to your folder on the desktop by choosing File > Save As. . . 

*Always choose 'Save as' when you are changing the name or location of a file.

1. Open a new Word document.

2. Type your name date and period in the top right corner of the page.

3. Create a table with 2 columns and 12 rows.

4. Type the following terms and definitions into the table. This will be your keyboarding practice for the day so make sure you are using the right fingers!

Terms	Definitions
Computer Network	A number of interconnected computers
Internet	The largest computer network linking smaller computer networks worldwide, providing email and information to the general public
Modem	Connects a computer or local network to Internet service
ISP (Internet Service Provider)	Company that offers access to the internet and email Examples: Charter, Verizon
Browser	A program that displays files from the internet Examples: Firefox, Safari
World Wide Web	An information system on the Internet of interconnected hypertext documents
Web Page	A document connected to the World Wide Web
URL	The address of a webpage
Hyperlink	A link that connects one document to another page or document on the www usually by a mouse click
Search Engine	A website that searches webpages on the internet Examples: Google, Yahoo, etc
Downloading	Copying data from one computer system to another

5. Save your file as 'Internet Terms'. Make sure you save it to your own folder on the desktop.

1. Email me about your Khan Academy goals, NEW AND OLD.
New Rules:

You can't set a goal, to earn a badge unless you tell me exactly which badge. For example you can't say "I will earn two moon badges," but rather you must say "I will earn the moon badge 'Apprentice Pre-algebraist' by becoming proficient in Exponents 1, Adding and subtracting negative numbers, and Adding and subtracting fractions."

You can't set a goal that is simply to achieve a certain number of points. The points can be a part of your goal, but they can't be everything. Along with that, please tell me how you will earn those points by listing which badges you will earn or which exercises you will pass off.
