Note: These steps are to be completed after you have carefully watched Mrs. Delatore demonstrate how to begin your Power Point project.

1. Open Power Point

2. Choose a theme

3. Save your project right away to your folder on the desktop. Name it All About Me.

3. On the title slide, type your name for the title and "All About Me" for the subtitle.

4. Under the Home tab in the Slides section click New Slide. Choose the slide "Section Header."

5. This section will be for your personal history. Give it a title and subtitle to represent this topic.

6. New Slide: Title and content

7. Fill in a title (it can be a repeat of the title you already made for this section) and at least 3 bullet points describing your history. For example
• Where were you born? When?
• Where have you lived?
• What schools have you gone to?
• Is there a big event in your life that has made an impact on you? What is it and when did it take place?

8. When you finish these steps, you may go to Khan Academy and continue working on your assigned exercises.

**Don't forget to turn in your Mixed Review assignment if you have not done so already.

Flyer Redesign Project (elective class only)

1. Go to this web page.

2. Control-click on the link to the word document and download it to the desktop.


3. Open the file in MS Word.


4. Identify the problems: spelling, formatting, proximity, alignment.


5. Follow these steps in Word to redesign the flyer:
  • Align all text to the left.
  • Fix the spelling errors. Spell out Saturday, Sunday and August.
  • Replace all-caps words with upper- and lower-case words.
  • Separate the parts of a phone number with - (a dash) or . (a period).
  • Format the paragraphs so that related items have proximity (are closer together).
  • Adjust font sizes to emphasise key concepts.
  • Any other ideas for improvement? See what you can come up with!
  • Save the file to your folder on the desktop.

1. Control click on the link to open the Google Doc in a new tab: Internet Search Assignment

2. Download the document: File > Download As > Word

3. Open the Word document from your downloads window.

4. Save the document to your folder on the desktop.
*Remember to Save As when you are setting a new location.

5. Begin working on the assignment. Don't forget to save your work!
